I grew up in gorgeous Devon and loved it so much I never wanted to leave. So here I still am, years later with a family of my own. Ever since I can remember, the power of nature has always fascinated me. From watching my first Lightening Storm mesmerised, on my Dad's lap in South Devon, to the calm sigh of the next morning, and the stillness of the sea. To the first time I was stung by a nettle, and my Mum calmly pulling a Dock Leaf from the hedge and making the pain go away. It showed me that nature has this extraordinary way of balancing itself. For every sting, there's a remedy. For every scratch, there's a herb to soothe it. And we are natural creatures, organically made, so it felt right to reach out to nature, and ask it to share a bit of its magic. So here I am, having spent a long time, endless hours of research, mixing, trial and error, I am now ready, and pretty proud actually, to introduce you all to A Sprig & A Wish.
A Sprig & A Wish was born out of a Wish to help my Mum manage her painful joints, and a Sprig of Rosemary as my first ingredient. Hence a Sprig & A Wish! Storm Breaker was first to be born and adapted to use on Skeletal pain and also Migraine and headaches, which I have suffered with since my late teens. Then came My Sweet Honey Love, for muscular, inflammatory pain, and I knew this was the right path. I was very ill a few years ago, and a 12 hour operation and a lot of recovery and healing later, I was ready to come at life again. I needed to get back to work, get strong, and make every precious moment count. But the pain from my scars could be vicious, particularly when I started back to work. My Sweet Honey Love has been my best friend sometimes, as it soothes away angry spiky pain, and helps to ease my muscles as they still mend. Duvet Day was the next one to make, as my lovely boy got a horrible bug, with a cold and chesty cough. Trying to get traditional Vapour Rub onto him was like trying to wrestle a drunk Orangutan! So we gave it a non-greasy Shea Butter base, added all the beautiful natural decongestants like Eucalyptus, Cinnamon Leaf and White Camphor, and finished by sweetening it with Orange oil to make it more approachable to a suspicious small person.
And the rest is history. The Collection has grown, as has the business, as we all look for a simpler, more natural way of dealing with life. With several collections in the range, A Sprig & A Wish is finding its way into households and hearts for Skincare, Physical Care, Emotional Care, Winter Care, Hair Care and Lip Butters.
Using all-natural ingredients, and being Handmade in Devon, I am really excited to share A Sprig & A Wish with you all.
